On November 15th and 16th, over 300 business and industrial leaders from Europe’s largest energy stakeholders will convene in London for the latest in Reuters Events’ Energy Transition portfolio, Reuters Events: Energy Transition Europe, where they will discuss the urgent need to decarbonise European energy production, deliver strategies to drive carbon reduction across the energy industry, and reflect on the knock-on effects of ongoing geopolitical tension on the European transition.

The summit will seek to answer key questions that remain front of mind for energy transition stakeholders.

What will the European post-transition industrial economy look like? How will rising geopolitical tension across Europe hinder – or accelerate – the transition to renewables and the grids of the future? The entire energy ecosystem is being rebuilt from the ground up, and whilst the transition will affect all sectors of European business, impactful action must start with energy stakeholders.

Across two days, Energy Transition Europewill unite public and private sector leaders from European E&Ps, Utilities, Renewables, Finance, Metals, Mining, and other key industry verticals to focus on propelling net-zero energy across Europe whilst ensuring a just and equitable transition for all European countries.

Key speakers joining the discussion include:

  • Josu Jon Imaz, Chief Executive Officer, Repsol
  • Simone Rossi, Chief Executive Officer, EDF
  • Ana Paula Marques, Chief Executive Officer, EDP Spain
  • Daniel Fitzgerald, Chief Executive Officer, Orron Energy
  • Christina Verchere, Chief Executive Officer, OMV Petrom
  • As Tempelman, Chief Executive Officer, Eneco
  • Greg Jackson, Chief Executive Officer, Octopus Energy
  • Philippe Ducom, President of Europe, ExxonMobil
  • Will Gardiner, Chief Executive Officer, Drax

“Often considered a transition leader, the European market has undergone significant system shock in recent months,” said Luke Brett, Project Director of Reuter’s Events Energy Transition portfolio. “Face-to-face summits are a powerful tool for building momentum and affecting change. We look forward to bringing together the brightest minds in European energy to harness momentum and drive transition action from the boardroom.”

Five key themes, each reflecting an important element of the European transition, will permeate the summit: Accelerating the European Transition; European Market Governance; Energy Security; Electrification & Digitalisation; and Industry & Supply Chains.
