Sonnen and ES Solar have partnered with Rocky Mountain Power (RMP) to launch the « Go Back » program, a virtual power plant (VPP) initiative targeting solar homes without smart grid-connected batteries. By upgrading these systems with sonnen batteries, the program transforms solar energy into a dispatchable grid asset, helping to lower emissions and improve reliability. So far, ES Solar has installed up to 500 batteries per month, with plans to retrofit 32,000 homes over five years. Customers benefit from backup power, lower emissions, and financial incentives, while utilities like RMP leverage VPPs to support grid stability.
